Hi all, I agree with what has been written above, especially with what Breeanne wrote regarding some questions being more appropriate for different phases of recovery. I know this is a bit outside of the scope of what we are learning as the focus is on working directly with youth experiencing psychosis, but I watched the Dr. Neufelt video that was part of the module and it struck me how children may be impacted by having a parent who experiences psychosis. I have worked with youth who had parents who experience psychosis and they required a lot of psychoeducation as their parents behaviour could sometimes be alarming to them. While some of the questions in the “assessing the impact in the family” document would be appropriate to ask a child directly, others are not, but I think it’s still important to consider the impact and support caregivers in supporting youth.
