Thank-you Lorna for bringing light to the need for further discussion surrounding culture and improving services. I am very new to EPI and have noticed that certain aspects of valuable information such as cultural consideration is included within my health authority’s assessments and then other important considerations or valuable questions are within the EPI assessments. I have been trying to utilize both sources to improve client-clinician rapport and be able to discuss alternative therapies and perspectives. I am from a rural area and have only used a translator service once before with a client. Within the context of EPI services I could see the translation service as being challenging with clients with mistrust towards new/ different people involved in each appointments conversations. I really appreciate your contribution of research articles and will continue to strive to learn more and hopefully become more aware with future clients.
